Regulations on 4 general rules when participating in road traffic in Vietnam

This is a notable content of the Draft Law on ensuring road traffic order and safety, which is submitted to the National Assembly of Vietnam for consideration.

According to Article 13 of the Draft Law on ensuring road traffic order and safety of Vietnam, 04 general rules on ensuring road traffic order and safety that road users need to know are specified as follows:

1. Road users must go on the right in their direction, stay in the correct lane and section of the road, and must obey the road signal system.

2. Drivers of vehicles participating in traffic must pay special attention to ensure the safety of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, especially children, the elderly and people with disabilities.

3. Drivers and occupants of cars must fasten seat belts at places equipped with seat belts when participating in road traffic.

4. At places with road markings or other signals for pedestrians, vehicle operators must observe, slow down or stop to give way to pedestrians or wheelchairs of people with disabilities crossing the road. At places where there are no road markings for pedestrians, vehicle drivers must observe, if they see pedestrians, wheelchairs of people with disabilities crossing the street, vehicle operators must slow down or stop to give way to pedestrians or wheelchairs of people with disabilities to cross the road to ensure safety.
