The Law on Grassroots Reconciliation was approved by the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on June 20, 2013. The law consists of 5 chapters and 33 articles, clearly stipulating the principles and policies of the State on grassroots reconciliation, mediators, and reconciliation groups; and grassroots reconciliation activities. The law takes effect from January 1, 2014, replacing the Ordinance on the Organization and Operation of Grassroots Reconciliation of 1998.
