On December 08, 2020, the Government of Vietnam issued the Decree No. 141/2020/NĐ-CP on regulations on the recruitment regime for pupils and students of ethnic minorities.
According to the Decree No. 141/2020/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, general standards in recruitment regime for pupils and students of ethnic minorities include:
- Permanently residing for 05 consecutive years or more up to the year of enrollment in areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions; having biological parents or adoptive parents (or have one of the two parties being biological father or mother, adoptive father or mother) who directly raise them living in this area;
- Satisfy pre-qualification standards for industries and occupations requiring pre-qualification;
- Not more than 22 years old by the year of enrollment, having good health according to current regulations.
In addition to these general standards, persons admitted to university must meet the following specific criteria:
- Graduated from high school;
- Graded good in the behavior of the school years of high school;
- Graded good or higher in academic performance in the final year of high school;
- Having studied for a full 03 years and graduated from high school at a school in the enrollment area as prescribed or at a boarding high school for ethnic minorities.
