Ministry of Health of Vietnam issues economic - technical characteristics of 990 quarantine and preventive healthcare services at public healthcare facilities in Vietnam

Circular 34/2024/TT-BYT stipulates the economic - technical characteristics of quarantine and preventive healthcare services at public health facilities in Vietnam. The Circular applies to public health facilities providing quarantine and preventive healthcare services, and related organizations and individuals.

According to the Circular, five Appendices have been issued specifying the economic - technical characteristics of 990 quarantine and preventive healthcare services at public health facilities, including:

- Appendix 01 issued with Circular 34/2024 stipulates the economic - technical characteristics of 60 services belonging to the group of medical quarantine services;

- Appendix 02 issued with Circular 34/2024 stipulates the economic - technical characteristics of 180 services belonging to the group of nutrition services;

- Appendix 03 issued with Circular 34/2024 stipulates the economic - technical characteristics of 314 services belonging to the group of services for the prevention and control of infectious diseases;

- Appendix 04 issued with Circular 34/2024 stipulates the economic - technical characteristics of 212 services belonging to the group of services for the prevention and control of parasitic and insect-borne diseases;

- Appendix 05 issued with Circular 34/2024 stipulates the economic - technical characteristics of 224 services belonging to the group of services related to occupational health, environmental health, and school health.

Current principles of infectious disease prevention and control in Vietnam

- Prioritizing disease prevention, in which information, education, communication, and infectious disease surveillance are the main measures. Combining medical technical measures with social and administrative measures in the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

- Implementing inter-sectoral coordination and mobilizing social resources for the prevention and control of infectious diseases; integrating infectious disease prevention and control activities into socio-economic development programs.

- Transparently, accurately, and promptly disclosing information about the epidemic.

- Proactively, actively, promptly, and thoroughly carrying out epidemic prevention and control activities.
