Vietnam: Ethnic minority students who enroll under admission are trained under the formal system

According to Clause 2 Article 9 of the Decree No. 141/2020/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, university, college and intermediate training for candidates under admission shall be carried out as follows:

1. Learners under admission are trained in the formal education system and arranged to study together with students of educational institutions according to their training sections;

2. The time to complete the training program at the university level shall comply with the current training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, the maximum time to complete is plus 02 academic years (04 semesters) to the designed time for the program;

3. The completion time of a college-level training program shall comply with the current training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam, the maximum time to complete is plus 01 academic year (02 semesters) to the designed time for the program;

4. The completion time of the intermediate-level training program shall comply with the regulations on implementation of the intermediate-level training program of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam, the maximum time to complete is plus 1/2 academic year (01 semester) to the designed time for the program;

5. Learners who complete the training program within the maximum time specified in Sections 2, 3 and 4 are entitled to the rights and perform obligations according to the admission; out of the prescribed maximum time, candidates must study on their own, not be considered for admission and arrange jobs after graduation;

6. The organization of training, consideration for recognition of graduation and granting of diplomas shall be carried out according to the corresponding training level according to current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam.
