Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 47/2014/TT-BTNMT regulating the technical establishment of administrative maps at various levels, which stipulates the necessary documents for the establishment of administrative maps at these levels.
Documents Required for the Compilation of Administrative Maps at All Levels (Illustration)
Article 9 of Circular 47/2014/TT-BTNMT stipulates the documents required for the compilation of administrative maps at all levels, including:
1. Primary Documents
- The administrative map of a locality is compiled based on the administrative boundary map within the administrative boundary records of that locality provided by the competent state agency;- Documents on national borders provided by the competent state agency;- National geographic database, national topographic maps; databases and land use status maps; cadastral databases and maps provided by the competent state agency;- Legal documents and materials on administrative boundary adjustments up to the time of map compilation;- List of international place names; list of administrative place names; list of residential, hydrographic, orographic, and socio-economic place names at the provincial level; list of sea, island, and archipelago place names issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
2. Supplementary Documents
- Specialized documents on topography, hydrology, population, transportation, socio-economics;- Other statistical documents and maps of the locality related to the map to be compiled.
The selected documents must be the most up-to-date; have a scale equal to or larger than the nearest scale of the map to be compiled.
Once the necessary documents are prepared, the compilation of administrative maps at all levels is carried out as follows:
- Scientific editing;- Technical editing;- Creating a digital draft;- Completing the draft;- Inspection and acceptance;- Packaging and delivering the product.
