Preschool, primary, and lower secondary school students in Vietnam continue to have a break from school for 1 to 2 weeks

This is the noteworthy content in Official Dispatch 586/BGDDT-GDTrH dated February 27, 2020, from the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the resumption of school attendance for students following the break to prevent and control Covid-19.

Before the complicated developments of Covid-19 in certain countries, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Chairpersons of the Provincial and Municipal People's Committees, based on the actual situation of their localities, consider and decide on continuing the school break for preschool children, primary school students, and lower secondary school students for an additional 01 to 02 weeks (high school students and continuing education students will resume classes from March 02, 2020).

The Ministry requests that local authorities instruct schools to continue strictly implementing the Covid-19 prevention and control procedures and ensure school safety in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

The Ministry will continue to closely monitor the situation and disease control to promptly guide localities in implementing the plan for the 2019 - 2020 academic year.
