On May 13, 2022, the Prime Minister of Vietnam issued the Official Letter 416/CD-TTg suspending the request for virus test SARS-CoV-2 before entering Vietnam.
Accordingly, to ensure the application of anti-epidemic measures and at the same time to create favorable conditions for accelerating socio-economic development restoration activities, the Prime Minister of Vietnam shall direct the following contents:
- Temporarily stop the test for SARS-CoV-2 viruses before entering Vietnam from 00 o'clock on May 15, 2022.
The Ministry of Health of Vietnam shall closely monitor the situation of epidemics and promptly guide suitable anti-epidemic measures.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam shall direct overseas Vietnamese agencies to notify persons wishing to enter Vietnam of satisfaction of requirements on epidemic prevention and combat under the guidance of the Ministry of Health.
- The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam shall direct airlines to implement anti-epidemic measures on means of transport under the guidance of the Ministry of Health.
- Chairpersons of provincial-level People's Committees shall strictly apply epidemic prevention and control measures in their localities under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and concerned ministries and branches.
- To request the ministers, the heads of the ministerial-level agencies, the heads of the agencies attached to the Government and the presidents of the provincial People's Committees of Vietnam:
+ Continue concentrating on directing the implementation of measures to prevent and combat COVID-19 epidemics;
+ Regularly inspect and promptly handle issues arising within their competence or report them to competent authorities under regulations.
