The Ministry of Health issues the Decision No. 1226/QD-BYT guiding the adjustment of a number of provisions on screening, separation, testing of persons suspected of SARS-CoV-2 infected at hospitals in Vietnam.
In which, the guidance on testing of persons suspected of being infected with COVID-19 in hospital in Vietnam is as follows:
- Carry out COVID-19 tests in the following cases:
+ Persons who come to hospitals for medical examination in Vietnam;
+ Inpatients;
+ If a health worker is suspected of having COVID-19 poisoning, fever, haemorrhage, throat, sick, chest, breath, pain, or bad pain, or weak of people, loss of consciousness, or other abnormal signs after screening COVID-19.
- Hospitals in Vietnam shall assess the risks and detect signs of suspected infection of COVID-19 in order to prescribe the testing for patients before performing surgeries, the patients at high risk departments such as intensive recovery, stroke, etc., and other patients according to professional requirements.
The risk assessment and signs of COVID-19 infection are based on the principle of protecting subjects at high risk and limiting to the maximum the risk of infection.
- Other persons such as patients' caretakers, providers of services for hospitals, persons coming to work or to work with hospitals, learners and visitors:
If there is any sign of suspicion of COVID-19 19 infection, they are required to show up at the screening area of COVID-19 and follow the instructions and instructions of medical staff.
The Decision No. 1226/QD-BYT comes into force from May 17, 2022 and replaces the Decision No. 5188/QD-BYT dated December 14, 2020.
