Circular 13/2023/TT-BCT on import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in Vietnam in 2023 issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade on June 9, 2023.

Import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in Vietnam 2023

Import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2023 in Vietnam are as follows:

- Poultry eggs:

+ Eggs of fowls (commodity codes 0407.21.00 and 0407.90.10) with the amount of 67,117 dozen.

+ Eggs of ducks (commodity codes 0407.29.10 and 0407.90.20) with the quantity of 67,117 dozen.

+ Other eggs (commodity codes 0407.29.90 and 0407.90.90) with the amount of 67,117 dozen.

Note: The eggs listed above are commercial unfertilized eggs

- Salt (commodity code 2501) in the amount of 84,000 tons.

Methods for administration of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in Vietnam 

Specifically, the mode of administration of import tariff quotas for salt and poultry eggs is prescribed as follows:

Import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2023 shall be allocated in accordance with Decree 69/2018/ND-CP and Circular 12/2018/TT-BCT.

Entities engaging in the allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry egg in Vietnam

According to regulationsentities engaging in the allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry egg include:

-  The import tariff-rate quota for salt shall be allocated to traders who use salt directly as materials for production of drugs, medical products and chemicals.

- The import tariff-rate quota for poultry eggs shall be allocated to traders wishing to import them.

(According to Article 14 of Circular 12/2018/TT-BCT, entities eligible to be issued with license for importing commodities under the tariff-rate quotas are as follows:

- Regarding salt, the trader that wishes to use salt for manufacture that is confirmed by a competent regulatory authority.

- Regarding poultry eggs, the trader that wishes to import poultry eggs.)

Time of allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in Vietnam

The Ministry of Industry and Trade shall discuss the determination of time of allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Finance.

Circular 13/2023/TT-BCT takes effect from July 25, 2023 to the end of December 31, 2023.
