Implementation of Contact Tracing for Suspected Covid-19 Infected Persons via Bluezone Application

This is the notable content stipulated in Official Dispatch 4199/BYT-VPB1 regarding the implementation, installation, and use of the BlueZone application issued by the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health issued a directive to medical facilities in provinces and cities to promote, disseminate, and encourage healthcare staff and visitors to those facilities to install and use BlueZone from August 5, 2020.

Additionally, the MOH instructed the Center for Disease Control (CDC)/Preventive Medicine Centers to carry out the following tasks:

- Request Covid-19 patients (from July 1, 2020) to provide the mobile phone numbers they are using and declare whether they have installed and used BlueZone or not;- If the Covid-19 patient's mobile phone has BlueZone installed, implement the accompanying contact tracing procedures;- Send the contact information of the BlueZone system account management point person by August 6, 2020, to the Ministry of Health Office to receive user accounts and passwords for managing BlueZone data of each province and city, created by the Department of Informatization, the Ministry of Information and Communications.
