Hanoi-Vietnam: Proceducres for evaluating hospital safety in COVID-19 prevention and control

Recently, the Vietnam Ministry of Health and the Department of Medical Services Administration issued Guidance 1009/KCB-QLCL&CDT on evaluating the set of criteria for safe hospitals in the COVID-19 prevention and control and respiratory disease outbreaks.

The Department of Medical Services Administration in Vietnam has detailed the steps for evaluating the current status of COVID-19 prevention and control, as well as other acute respiratory diseases in hospitals as follows:

- Step 1: Issuance of the decision to establish an internal evaluation team;

- Step 2: Meeting to announce the decision and assign tasks;

- Step 3: Study the content of the criteria and evaluation methods;

- Step 4: Conduct the evaluation;

- Step 5: Enter the results and evidence into the online software;

- Step 6: Hold a post-evaluation meeting;

- Step 7: Report the results to the supervisory agency;

- Step 8: Announce and disseminate the results;

- Step 9: Develop a plan to mitigate risks and enhance the hospital's epidemic prevention capacity;

- Step 10: Implement intervention solutions.
