Amendments to standards for aquatic food safety inspectors for export in Vietnam

This is the content of Circular 32/2022/TT-BNNPTNT dated December 30, 2022 amending the Circular stipulating the appraisal and certification of agricultural, forestry and fishery food production and trading establishments meeting all conditions to ensure food safety under the management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.

According to Vietnam's Circular 32/2022/TT-BNNPTNT, amending standards for inspectors of food safety for exported aquatic products is addressed in Vietnam's Circular 48/2013/TT-BNNPTNT as follows:

- Being truthful and objective; having no financial ties to the organization or individual exporting the consignment or the owner of the inspected and appraised establishment.

- Having participated in professional skills training courses relevant to the appraisal field or an appraisal training course;

Currently, it is required to have appropriate expertise and have been certified by the Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Management Department to complete the training course on the inspection and certification of aquatic food safety.

- Being healthu enough to ensure the completion of assigned tasks.

In addition, Vietnam's Circular 32/2022/TT-BNNPTNT also amends regulations on agencies to appraise the safety of exported aquatic products as follows:

Agencies appraising, granting, and withdrawing food safety certificates and agencies appraising and granting certificates: Department of Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Management and agencies and units under the Department.

Vietnam's Circular 32/2022/TT-BNNPTNT takes effect on February 15, 2023.
