On May 18, 2024, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Decree 56/2024/ND-CP amending Decree 55/2011/ND-CP regulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of legal organizations, wherein it stipulates the policies for individuals engaged in legal affairs.

Allowances for legal affairs personnel in legal affairs organizations in Vietnam from July 2, 2024

To be specific, based on the job positions concerning legal affairs expertise in administrative agencies and organizations, individuals engaged in legal affairs in ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam shall receive support at the rate of VND 60,000 per working day. In specialized agencies under the provincial People's Committees, the support rate shall be VND 40,000 per working day.

This support regime shall be applied until the implementation of the salary policy according to Resolution 27-NQ/TW of 2018 by the Seventh Conference of the XII Central Committee on salary policy reform for officials and public employees, armed forces, and laborers in enterprises.

State enterprises and public service providers shall apply the above-mentioned support policies to decide on policies for individuals engaged in legal affairs.

According to the regulations, personnel engaged in legal affairs in legal affairs organizations include:

- Legal officials recruited and appointed to legal affairs organizations in ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam, and specialized agencies under provincial People's Committees.

- Legal officers assigned or recruited to legal affairs organizations in the People's Army and Public Security units.

- Legal professionals recruited and appointed to legal affairs organizations in public service providers.

- Legal staff recruited under labor contract policies to legal affairs organizations in state enterprises.
