Departments of Education and Training of Vietnam are allowed to merge legal affairs division into other functional divisions

This is the directive of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam at Official Dispatch 4194/BGDDT-PC dated September 11, 2017, guiding the tasks of the 2017 - 2018 academic year on legal affairs. If the Departments of Education and Training do not establish legal affairs departments, they shall carry out following tasks:

- It is possible to merge legal tasks with other functional departments;

- Ensure that the name, organization, and activities are in accordance with the legal requirements of the locality as prescribed by Decree 55/2011/ND-CP and Official Dispatch 5592/VPCP-TCCV.

According to Official Dispatch 4194/BGDDT-PC, the legal department at the Departments of Education and Training of Vietnam has the following tasks:

- Maintain and improve the quality of legal work;

- Organize and implement participation in training and professional development courses on legal affairs;

- Cooperate with the Legal Committee of the People's Council, the Director of the Department of Justice, etc., to review and systematize legislative documents in the field of education issued by the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee in Vietnam;

- Closely combine monitoring the implementation of the law with enhancing inspections to promptly detect, address, or propose solutions for legislative documents containing illegal content.
