Special Preferential Import Tariff of Vietnam According to the New Draft

Regulations on the special preferential import tariff schedule in Draft Decree on the Preferential Export Tariff Schedule, Special Preferential Import Tariff Schedule of Vietnam to implement the EVFTA Agreement for the period 2020 – 2022 are as follows:

+ Tax subjects regulated in Appendix II attached to the Draft include codes, description of goods, special preferential import tax rates according to the phases imported from members of the European Union and the territories as stipulated.

+ Symbol “*”: Imported goods not eligible for the special preferential import tax under the EVFTA Agreement.

+ For imported goods subject to tariff quotas including certain items under groups 04.07; 17.01; 24.01; 25.01, the special preferential import tax rate within quotas is the rate specified in Appendix II attached to the Decree;

Note: The annual import tariff quota list and quantity as regulated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the out-of-quota import tax rates applied according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam at the time of import.

+ Conditions for applying the special preferential import tax rates under the EVFTA Agreement:

- Belongs to the Special Preferential Import Tariff Schedule specified in Appendix II attached to the Decree;- Imported into Vietnam from:

- Members of the European Union, except the territories of Ceuta and Melilla;- Principality of Andorra;- Republic of San Marino;- United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;- Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Goods imported from the non-tariff zone into the domestic market).

- Complies with the regulations on goods origin and possesses a certificate of origin as stipulated in the EVFTA Agreement.
