03 Cases Handling Forces Participating in Protecting Local Security and Order when Sick (Illustrative photo)

Draft Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Local Level stipulates that forces participating in protecting security and order at the local level, when performing their duties according to the regulations or decisions of the competent authority, if they become ill, have accidents, die, are injured, or sacrifice, will be resolved as follows:

1. In cases of not participating in health insurance, if they become ill, have accidents, or are injured, they will be reimbursed for medical examination and treatment expenses;
2. In cases of not participating in social insurance, if they have an accident that reduces their working capacity according to the conclusion of the Medical Appraisal Council, they will be considered for support depending on the level of disability; if they die, they will receive death benefits and funeral expenses;
3. In cases of being injured, they will be considered for benefits similar to war invalids, if they sacrifice, they will be considered for recognition as martyrs under the law.

Note: The Government of Vietnam stipulates the conditions, benefit levels, procedures, and agencies responsible for ensuring funding to implement the above regulations.

Additionally, the Draft Law also stipulates the commendation and handling of violations involving forces participating in protecting security and order at the local level as follows:

- Organizations and individuals with achievements in building forces participating in protecting security and order at the local level; forces participating in protecting security and order at the local level with achievements in performing assigned tasks will be considered for commendation under the law.- Individuals operating in the protection of security and order at the local level, who abuse their duties and powers to violate the law or for personal gain that adversely affects security, order, or the reputation of the organization, depending on the nature and extent of the violation, will be subject to administrative handling or criminal prosecution under the law; in cases of causing damage, they must compensate the victim under the law.
