Salary and Bonus: Matters of Concern for All EmployeesSalaries and bonuses are issues that every employee is concerned about, particularly the matter of pay raises or more specifically, the minimum working period required before an employee can request a raise from the company.
Request for Salary Increase - A Must-Approve for the Boss
Currently, the law does not specify any minimum period for a salary increase for employees and this generally depends on the company. In practice, companies often set a minimum period for a salary increase for employees at 6 months or 1 year, depending on the employee's job performance.
Clause 2, Article 21 of Decree 05/2015/ND-CP provides that The salary paid to the employee is based on the salary stated in the labor contract, labor productivity, the quantity and quality of work performed by the employee.
Additionally, Clause 4, Article 7 of Decree 49/2013/ND-CP stipulates that when constructing the salary scale, the company must establish standards for salary classification and conditions for salary increment.
Accordingly, based on the above provisions, the minimum period for a salary increase will depend on the employee's performance, work quality, and the salary increment conditions set by the company. If the employee feels that the current salary is not commensurate with their performance and quality of work, or if the employee has met the company's conditions for a salary increase but has not yet received one, the employee can submit a request to the company for a salary increment.
