What are selected texts for teaching grade 5 Vietnamese Language Language subject?

Based on Section IX Appendix of the General Education Program for Literature issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the suggested selection of texts in grade 5 Vietnamese Language curriculum will be as follows:

- Based on the criteria for selecting texts (stated in section V) and the requirements for selecting texts (stated in section VIII), the program builds a list of (language material) suggesting selection at levels.

This list of texts is not all of the materials for the classes but only serves as examples illustrating genres, types of texts, themes, and suitability with age perception and psychology, aimed at meeting the achievement requirements in reading, writing, speaking, and listening for each grade.

To be convenient and flexible in choosing materials, texts are suggested according to group classes: Grades 1, 2, and 3; Grades 4 and 5; Grades 6 and 7; Grades 8 and 9; Grades 10, 11, and 12 (The name of the text in all classes is arranged alphabetically).

Textbook authors can base this directory to select and find additional equivalent texts in terms of genre and difficulty to compile as long as they meet the criteria (stated in section V) and the text selection requirements (stated in section VIII).

- The texts (materials) suggested in this directory are arranged according to the type and genre of text (story, poetry, drama, narrative, expository, information).

The number of texts in each type, genre varies, depending on the achievement requirements of the program.

The list includes new texts and those that are used, or are being used in current textbooks (reallocated to suit the achievement requirements of the classes), ensuring harmony between inheritance and innovation. For informational texts, the list does not introduce specific titles but only states themes and types of texts for textbook authors to choose freely.

Authors in this list appear only once throughout all three educational levels, except for several mandatory author works stated in the program.

To provide textbook authors with guidelines on selecting appropriate texts for class groups, this list includes distribution directions even for mandatory works.

What are 05 core qualities for grade 5 students in Vietnam?

According to the Education Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT (with some content amended by Article 1, Article 2 Circular 13/2022/TT-BGDĐT), 05 core qualities that grade 5 students must achieve the following requirements:

(1) Patriotism

- Love nature and take practical actions to protect it.

- Love the homeland, love the Fatherland, and respect national symbols.

- Reverence and gratitude for laborers and those who have contributed to the homeland, the country; participate in activities honoring and memorializing those who have contributed to the homeland, the country.

(2) Compassion

- Love everyone:

+ Caring and loving relatives in the family.

+ Caring friends and teachers; encouraging and motivating friends.

+ Respect the elderly; help the elderly, sick, disabled; show kindness and help younger siblings.

+ Share with friends in difficult circumstances, friends in remote areas, disabled people, and people affected by natural disasters.

- Respect for differences among people:

+ Respect the differences of classmates in dressing, character, and family circumstances.

+ Do not discriminate, divide friends.

+ Willing to forgive wrong actions of friends.

(3) Diligence

Keen to learn

- Attend school regularly and on time.

- Frequently complete learning tasks.

- Eager to learn, love reading to expand knowledge.

- Be conscious of applying learned knowledge and skills from school to daily life.

Diligent in work

- Regularly participate in family tasks suitable for oneself.

- Regularly participate in school, class, community tasks suitable for oneself.

(4) Honesty

- Be honest and straightforward in learning, working, and daily activities; boldly express personal opinions.

- Always keep promises; boldly admit mistakes, correct mistakes, and defend what is right and good.

- Do not take the belongings, money of relatives, friends, teachers, and others without permission.

- Do not condone dishonest acts in study and life.(5) Responsibility

Responsibility to oneself:

- Be conscious of maintaining hygiene, exercising the body, and taking care of health.

- Have awareness of disciplined living.

Responsibility to family:

- Be conscious of maintaining and preserving personal and family belongings.

- Do not waste food and drinks; be conscious of saving money, electricity, and water at home.

Responsibility to school and society:

- Voluntarily adhere to the school's regulations and collective rules; maintain general hygiene; protect public property.

- Do not cause disorder, quarrel, or fight.

- Remind friends to comply with school rules; remind relatives to adhere to public regulations and customs.

- Be responsible for the tasks assigned at school and in class.

- Actively participate in collective activities and social activities appropriate for their age.

Responsibility to the living environment:

- Be conscious of caring for and protecting greenery and useful animals.

- Be conscious of maintaining environmental hygiene, do not litter indiscriminately.

- Do not condone actions that harm nature.
