This is a content mentioned by the Politburo of Vietnam in Directive No. 29-CT/TW dated January 5, 2024 on education universalization, mandatory education, illiteracy elimination for adults, and promotion of student classification in general education.
According to the Directive, to improve the quality of education universalization, illiteracy elimination for adults, and promotion of student classification in general education, the Politburo of Vietnam requests CPV committees, organizations, authorities, Vietnamese Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations to ensure the good performance of specific tasks and solutions.
Specifically, it is necessary to continue to innovate policies on salaries, recruitment, use, benefits, attraction, and assurance of necessary conditions for teachers to ensure the good performance of tasks; adopt incentive and preferential policies for teachers working in regions with extremely disadvantaged socio-economic conditions and specialized education facilities.
Additionally, it is necessary to innovate the fundamental and comprehensive contents, programs, training methods, and advanced training for preschool, general education, and vocational education teachers, aiming towards standardization, modernization, democratization, and gradually approaching the standards of advanced countries; and
Pay attention to the training and improvement of qualifications, ideology, ethics, and pedagogical skills for teachers and improvement of the quality of training facilities, advanced training for teachers and managers associated with the personnel planning in education; and
Focus on investing in the development of focal pedagogical universities, establishing satellite pedagogical schools as the core in the provision of high-quality training for teachers and managers; and
Ensure the link between pedagogical schools and local authorities in the development of plans for recruitment, training, and advanced training for teachers at all levels, ensuring the quantity, structure equilibrium, and conformity with practical needs to rectify the situation of teacher surplus and shortage as soon as possible.
