On January 6, 2025, the Ministry of Health issued Directive 01/CT-BYT regarding the enhancement of healthcare activities to ensure the celebration of the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025.
Implementing Directive 40-CT/TW dated December 11, 2024, of the Secretariat and Directive 45/CT-TTg dated December 18, 2024, of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam regarding the strengthening of measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical Lunar New Year At Ty 2025;
Accordingly, the Minister of Health directs the Department of Health of provinces and centrally-managed cities:
- Regarding the monitoring and response to epidemics
+ Advise the provincial and city People's Committees to enhance the direction of disease prevention and control during the Lunar New Year 2025; mobilize resources and the participation of various sectors and groups for healthcare activities during the New Year.
+ Continue to monitor, supervise, and promptly detect and thoroughly handle infectious disease hotspots, preventing their spread and outbreak in the community. Strengthen inspection and supervision of epidemics at border gates to early detect, isolate, and deal promptly with suspected cases of infectious diseases, preventing the disease from entering and spreading into Vietnam. Assign personnel on duty around the clock during the New Year holiday; direct units to develop plans to allocate tasks, strictly implement epidemic reporting according to regulations. Develop plans to promptly respond to epidemic situations under the "four on-the-spot" principle; prepare adequate chemicals, equipment, means, and human resources to meet the requirements of disease prevention and control in the area.
+ Enhance inspection, supervision, and monitoring of the implementation of epidemic prevention and control during the New Year holiday.
- Regarding medical examination and treatment
+ Direct healthcare facilities in the area to organize around-the-clock duty. Ensure sufficient supply of medicine, blood, infusion fluids, medical materials, chemicals, medical equipment, and medical oxygen; prepare plans for emergency response in crowded events; arrange beds, transportation, ready to respond and serve treatment and emergency needs, especially emergencies involving traffic accidents, fires, injuries, food poisoning, and treatment of infectious disease patients during Tet. Encourage healthcare staff to adhere to hospital rules and regulations, improve service awareness, and foster courteous interaction with patients and their families during consultations and treatment. Visit and extend New Year greetings to inpatients, especially those in difficult circumstances, the poor, and those under policy beneficiaries.
+ Direct private healthcare facilities to plan cooperation with public healthcare facilities in the area to engage in healthcare activities ensuring the celebration of the Lunar New Year 2025; prepare necessary conditions to coordinate activities upon request.
+ Mobilize resources for lawful support; fully and promptly implement policies to encourage healthcare workers during Tet, particularly those on duty during the New Year.
+ Develop and implement plans to inspect and supervise the implementation of medical examination and treatment at healthcare facilities in the area.
