Promulgating the Regulation on Admission for lower secondary schools and admission for upper secondary schools in Vietnam

These regulations stipulate the Regulation on Admission for lower secondary schools and admission for upper secondary schools in Vietnam.

These regulations apply to lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, schools with multiple education levels, educational institutions implementing general education programs; and related organizations and individuals.

The admission for specialized schools is conducted according to the regulations on admission in the regulations on the organization and operation of specialized schools.

For instance, the lower secondary school admission process is regulated as follows:

- The Chairperson of the People's Committee of the district, district-level town, province-level city, city under a province, city under a central-affiliated city (hereinafter collectively referred to as the district-level People's Committee) approves the plan for lower secondary school admission. The lower secondary school admission plan includes the following basic contents: admission subjects; the quota and area of admission; criteria for admission consideration; time for admission consideration and announcement of admission results. The lower secondary school admission plan is announced before March 31 annually.

For lower secondary schools belonging to universities, colleges, and research institutes, the lower secondary school admission plan is directly managed and decided by the University Director, College Rector, and Institute Director after consultation with the local Department of Education and Training where the school is located.

- Based on the approved lower secondary school admission plan, the lower secondary school admission Council develops and publicly announces the admission plan of the school; organizes the registration for admission, receives, and prepares the admission registration materials.

- The lower secondary school admission Council organizes the admission consideration following the approved admission plan; proposes the list of successful candidates to the School Principal for submission to the Head of the Department of Education and Training for approval.

For lower secondary schools belonging to universities, colleges, and research institutes, the list of successful candidates is directly managed and approved by the University Director, College Rector, and Institute Director.
