Recently, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam has issued Directive 23/CT-BYT regarding the promotion of COVID-19 prevention and control during the Winter-Spring season.
To be proactive and promote measures for COVID-19 prevention and control during the Winter-Spring season, aiming to minimize the number of cases and deaths caused by COVID-19, the Minister of Health of Vietnam has issued a new directive to the Departments of Health of provinces and municipalities; the Epidemiological Institutes, Pasteur Institutes; Hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health; the Department of Preventive Medicine in Vietnam, etc.
Specifically, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam directs the Departments of Health of provinces and municipalities to:
- Advise the Provincial and Municipal People’s Committees to decide on the consolidation of the Provincial and Municipal Steering Committees for COVID-19 Prevention and Control; concurrently propose the Provincial and City People’s Committees to direct the consolidation of Steering Committees for COVID-19 Prevention and Control at levels and assign specific responsibilities to each member of the Steering Committee;
- Continue to advise the Provincial and Municipal People’s Committees to direct local authorities, Departments, and central authorities to vigorously implement COVID-19 prevention and control according to the directives of the Government of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health with the principle of not being subjective, complacent, firmly preventing sources of infection, isolating, and thoroughly handling outbreaks; maintain and effectively implement the COVID-19 prevention and control teams in the community;
