Hanoi-Vietnam: Application for enjoyment of sickness benefits for employees under the Ministry of National Defense

According to Circular 181/2016/TT-BQP providing guidance on the documentation, procedures, and responsibilities for the settlement of social insurance benefits within the Ministry of National Defense, the application for enjoyment of sickness benefits for employees under the Vietnam Ministry of National Defense includes:

- Original or copy of the hospital discharge note for the employee or his/her child undergoing inpatient treatment;

- In case the employee or his/her child undergoes outpatient treatment, a certificate of leave covered by social insurance benefits (original) is required; if both parents take leave to care for a sick child, the certificate of leave covered by social insurance benefits of one of the parents can be a copy;

- If the employee or his/her child seeks medical treatment abroad, the application as per the guidance above shall be replaced by a certified Vietnamese translation of the medical certificate issued by the foreign medical facility;

- The HR department shall prepare an additional list of requests for enjoying sickness, maternity, convalescence, and health recovery benefits (Form No. C70a-HD).

Circular 181/2016/TT-BQP, effective from December 20, 2016, applies to individuals working under employment contracts with a 01-03-month term from January 1, 2018.
