Guidance on implementing the tasks of protecting and taking care of the health of provincial-level officials in Vietnam

The task of protecting and taking care of the health of officials of provinces and centrally run cities (provincial level) is carried out through the following main contents:

(1) Advise on the protection and health care of officers;

(2) Organize the implementation of tasks for protecting and taking care of staff health;

(3) manage and mobilize resources;

(4) Coordinate protection and health care for officials at the department, institute,  and equivalent levels or higher of central agencies; centrally managed senior officials are working or have retired in the area.

(5) Perform other tasks when assigned by competent authorities.

When organizing implementation, the Departments of Health of provinces and centrally run cities are responsible for:

- Focal point to organize the implementation of tasks as prescribed in (1), (3), (4), and (5) and guide and inspect the implementation of tasks as prescribed in (2);

- Chair and coordinate with the Provincial and City Party Committee's Organizing Committee, the Provincial and City Party Committee's Health Care and Protection Committee, and relevant agencies to submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial and City Party Committee in considering, selecting, and deciding to assign the medical facility as a Provincial or City General Hospital; a central general hospital (if any) located in the area; or other medical facilities (collectively referred to as units) to perform the task of protecting and taking care of staff health in accordance with the specific conditions of each locality;

- Preside and coordinate with relevant agencies to advise and propose to competent authorities to ensure resources to meet the protection and health care of staff for subjects according to local regulations;

- Advise the Department of Protection and Health Care for Provincial and City Officials in establishing Professional Councils for each field, including a team of medical personnel with high professional qualifications and experience in medical examination and treatment activities when consulting, treating, and deciding on medical professional measures.

Duties, working regime, number, and standards for members of the Professional Council comply with the regulations of competent authorities;

- Report on the results of health protection and care for staff in the area according to regulations.
