Vietnamese officials and CPV members are prohibited from exploiting anniversaries for "partying"

This is the prominent content mentioned in Regulation 55-QD/TW of the Politburo regarding certain immediate actions needed to strengthen the role model of Vietnamese officials and CPV members.

In order to contribute to the implementation of the Resolution of the Fourth Conference of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam concerning the building of the Communist Party of Vietnam as well as to enhance the exemplary role of officials and party members, the Politburo requires:

- Strict prohibition of exploiting gatherings, meetings, celebrations, congratulations before, during, and after each congress, conference, session, or on occasions of celebrations, anniversaries, opening ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, or when officials are promoted, appointed, ranked, transferred, rotated, etc., for eating, "partying," giving and receiving gifts with selfish motives.

- The organization of weddings, funerals, memorials, Tet, and birthdays must be done simply, economically, ensuring the new cultural lifestyle according to the conformity of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State; in line with the traditions and beautiful cultural identity of the nation.

- Strict prohibition of exploiting to "give and receive gifts" with selfish and unclear motives. Immediately end the situation of luxurious, wasteful banquets and parties that cause negative public opinions.

- When a working delegation arrives, localities, agencies, units, and foundations must strictly adhere to the regulations of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the State on reception policies and working policies; do not organize escort caravans, banners, red carpets, give gifts, or organize wasteful meals.

- Party committees and party organizations shall lead good political and ideological education work; promote the pioneering and exemplary roles of officials and party members in implementing the Regulation of the Politburo. Each member of the Central Committee, each Politburo member, each Secretary of the Secretariat, and each leader of the party committees and authorities at all levels must voluntarily and exemplarily implement and direct the implementation of this Regulation.

- Promote the active role of the people, the Fatherland Front, and political-social organizations, and the press agencies in propagating, disseminating, and supervising the implementation of this regulation; promptly commend good examples, good deeds, and criticize collectives and individuals who violate.

- Assign party committees and party organizations at all levels to lead the strict implementation of this Regulation. This Regulation shall be disseminated to the cells.
