Under Circular 46/2013/TT-BNNPTNT, the use of equipment and instruments for managing and operating reservoirs to adjust water storage, supply, and discharge in various weather situations or when water supply demands change must ensure that the reservoir that operates according to its design capacity and minimizes damage in the event of floods exceeding the design capacity or smaller than designed flows. The requirements for managing and operating reservoirs in Vietnam are as follows:

1. Performance Criteria

- Prepare tools, machines, equipment for managing and operating the reservoir.

- Manage and operate the reservoir according to technical procedures.

- Report accurate data on time.

- Ensure the safety of the managers and operators as well as the structure itself.

- Perform tasks within the time limits established by the enterprise.

2. Essential Skills and Knowledge

Skills:

- Retrieve Q,Z,a charts.

- Establish proper reservoir management and operation procedures.

- Be proficient in operating the reservoir's water regulation devices.- Operate monitoring instruments and equipment proficiently.

- Be proficient in recording operations logs and reporting results.

- Cooperate effectively in team operations.

Knowledge:

- Know the method to retrieve Q, Z, a charts.

- Know how to establish reservoir management and operation procedures.

- Know how to operate monitoring instruments and equipment.

- Know how to use the reservoir's water regulation instruments and equipment.

- Understand the regulations on labor safety measures.

- Grasp the method of recording logs and preparing reports.

3. Job performance conditions

- Reservoir management and operation procedures.

- Performance of tasks with all tools and equipment fully prepared.

- Gate-opening machines, hand wheels, rain gauges, rainfall measurement devices, measuring instruments, structure monitoring devices, etc.
