11 cases of revoking vehicle registration certificates and license plates from August 1, 2020 (illustrative photo)
Article 15 of Circular 58/2020/TT-BCA stipulates 11 cases of revoking vehicle registration certificates and license plates, including:
- Vehicles damaged beyond use or destroyed due to objective causes.
- Vehicles disassembled for their engines and frames to replace parts for other vehicles.
- Temporarily imported vehicles of foreign organizations, agencies, or individuals that are re-exported or transferred within Vietnam.
- Vehicles exempt from import tax that are now transferred for different purposes.
- Vehicles registered in special economic-trade zones or international border-gate economic zones as regulated by the Government of Vietnam when re-exported or transferred into Vietnam.
- Vehicles stolen or seized without recovery, for which the owner requests revocation of the vehicle registration certificate.
- Vehicles that have exceeded their usage period; vehicles not permitted to be operated according to the law; vehicles with conclusions from competent authorities that have had their engine or chassis numbers cut, re-welded or otherwise altered.
- Vehicles registered with incorrect type codes as stipulated in this Circular.
- Vehicles subject to title transfer or change of ownership.
- Military vehicles no longer requiring civilian license plates.
- Vehicles registered with discovered forged documents or improperly issued license plates.
