Vietnam’s regulations on declaration of conformity of animal feed applicable from July 01, 2020

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam issued Circular No. 04/2020/TT-BNNPTNT promulgating the National technical regulation on animal feed and ingredients in aquaculture feed.

According to Circular No. 04/2020/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, organizations and individuals whose operations involve trading in animal feed and ingredients in aquaculture feed within the territory of Vietnam are required to declare conformity of commercial animal feed and ingredients in aquaculture feed before they are sold on the market. To be specific:

- Regarding traditional feed, complete feed and concentrated feed for domestic animals and ingredients in aquaculture feed: Conformity shall be declared using 01 of the 03 following results:

+ Result of conformity self-assessment made by the organization or individual.

+ Certification result given by a certification body that has registered its certification services or has been accredited as prescribed by law.

+ Certification result given by a certification body appointed as prescribed by law.

- Regarding feed additives: Conformity shall be declared according to the certification result given by a certification body appointed as prescribed by law.

More details can be found in Circular No. 04/2020/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, which takes effect from July 01, 2020.
