The Government of Vietnam's request for further implementation of the General Education Program 2018

Regarding the improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in reforming the general education program, the Government of Vietnam requires the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to take the lead, cooperate with other ministries, central authorities, and local authorities:

- Continue to focus on the implementation of the General Education Program 2018 according to the schedule, ensuring progress and quality; expand successful models, exemplary practices, and advanced examples, address any difficulties, and overcome existing limitations. Promote the autonomy of educational institutions and educators in implementing the General Education Program 2018.

- At the end of the 2024 - 2025 academic year, conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation of the reform of the general education program and textbooks; assess the involvement of private investment in the composition of textbooks, and based on this, report to the Government of Vietnam to propose to the National Assembly on the use of state funds to compile a set of textbooks as stipulated in Resolution 88/2014/QH13 in 2025.

- Complete the composition, printing, and distribution of textbooks in ethnic minority languages and textbooks for the visually impaired, ensuring quality and timeliness; guide the printing and distribution of local educational materials; pilot and use electronic textbooks according to the General Education Program 2018.

- Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of inspection and supervision of the implementation of the General Education Program 2018, procurement of teaching equipment, and the organization of the high school graduation examinations. Inspect and supervise private investment in textbook composition; the process of composition, appraisal, publication, printing, distribution, and selection of textbooks, and the use of distribution costs nationwide.

- Review the responsibilities of organizations and individuals related to the compliance with Resolution 88/2014/QH13 on the compilation of a set of textbooks organized by the Ministry of Education and Training before the National Assembly issued Resolution 122/2020/QH14; regarding errors in the History subject in the General Education Program 2018, report to the competent authorities in 2024.
