On July 12, 2022, the Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 10/2022/TT-BGDĐT stipulating regulations on student assessment for the Literacy Program.

According to the Circular, student assessment methods for the Literacy Program in Vietnam are prescribed as follows:

- Rating using comments:

+ Teachers observe students in the process of teaching in class and record students' expressions to use as evidence to evaluate the learning and training process of students;

+ Teachers make comments and assessments about students' products and performance results, thereby evaluating students according to each relevant evaluation criteria;

+ Teachers communicate with students through questions and answers to collect information in order to make timely comments and help measures;

+ Teachers comment through students' use of oral or written form to self-criticize and participate in commenting on other students' and groups of students' performance of training and learning tasks;

- Rating using score:

Teachers use tests consisting of questions, level-based exercises, requirements in the form of multiple-choice, essays, or a combination of both to assess the achievement of educational content to be evaluated.

(Compared with the current one, Vietnam's Circular 10/2022/TT-BGDĐT provides more detailed student assessment methods for the Literacy Program).

Vietnam's Circular 10/2022/TT-BGDDT takes effect from August 27, 2022 and replaces Vietnam's Decision 79/2008/QD-BGDDT.
