Regulations on Allowance, Social Insurance, and Health Insurance for Militia and Self-Defense Commanders from July 01, 2020

Law on Militia and Self-Defense Force No. 48/2019/QH14 was passed by the XIV National Assembly at its 8th session on November 22, 2019.

This Law clearly stipulates policies on allowances, social insurance, and health insurance for militia and self-defense command positions from July 01, 2020, as follows:

- The militia and self-defense command positions specified in Article 19 of the 2019 Law on Militia and Self-Defense are entitled to position allowances;- The Deputy Commander of the Commune-level Military Command is entitled to monthly allowance policies, compulsory social insurance (SI), and health insurance (HI); if they have not participated in social insurance and have continuous service of 60 months or more, they shall receive a one-time allowance upon retirement;- The Commander, Political Commissar, Deputy Commander, and Deputy Political Commissar of the Commune-level Military Command with service duration of 60 months or more are entitled to seniority allowances;- The Village Defense Head is entitled to monthly allowances, concurrent position allowances as a squad leader or platoon leader of local militia.
