The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam issued Official Telegram 09/CD-TTg on February 3, 2025, concerning the assurance of maintaining a civilized, safe, and economical lifestyle in festival activities following the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake and the Spring Festival of 2025.
In this regard, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requires the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and central-affiliated cities to:
- Continue to strengthen state management of beliefs, religion, and festivals; enhance communication, advocacy, and guidance on the proper implementation of legal regulations regarding the organization of religious and festival activities in the area.
- Demand that businesses and service establishments publicly display and sell at listed prices, without hassling or coercing tourists to buy goods at tourist attractions and festivals, ensuring the quality of goods and services, and strictly dealing with any acts of exploiting historical sites, festivals, and beliefs for profit, superstitious practices, gambling, etc.
- Thoroughly instruct and direct agencies, organizations, units, all officials and public employees, and workers to strictly adhere to regulations and guidelines on organizing and attending festival activities; ensure safety, environmental protection, food hygiene and safety, promote thrift, combat wastefulness, and uphold the exemplary spirit of officials and party members.
Business and service establishments, as well as individual business households, must fully ensure conditions for food hygiene and safety, security, fire prevention, and explosion protection for the public and tourists attending festivals and related activities. Relevant authorities must organize, direct, and ensure security, safety, and traffic order in the area and during the festival period, as well as related activities.
