On March 12, 2024, the Minister of Health issued Circular 02/2024/TT-BYT on issuance of certificates of traditional medicine practitioner, certificates of holders of family remedies, certificates of holders of family treatment methods and combination of traditional medicine and modern medicine at medical facilities in Vietnam
A certificate of traditional medicine practitioner is revoked in the following cases:
- The certificate was issued by an unauthorized body.
- The application for issuance of certificate of traditional medicine practitioner was forged.
- The application for issuance of certificate of traditional medicine practitioner was not in accordance with regulations.
- Any organizations or individuals discover that a certificate of traditional medicine practitioner is subject to revocation in accordance with Article 18 of this Circular shall send a notification to the competent authority to revoke the certificate in accordance with Article 3 of this Circular.
- The agency competent to revoke the certificate of traditional medicine practitioner is responsible for verifying records, documents, and information provided by the mentioned organization or individual. If it is a case of revocation, they shall issue a decision to revoke the certificate.
Applicants for certificates of traditional medicine practitioner in Vietnam as of March 12, 2024 include:
- Those who have been standardized as traditional medicine practitioners and have all the module certificates specified in Point a, Clause 1, Article 2 of Circular 02/2024/TT-BYT before June 30, 2004 but have not taken examinations.
- Those who have been granted a certificate of specialized traditional medicine practitioner by Vietnam Orientally Traditional Medicine Association before June 30, 2004.
- Those who have been trained by the Vietnamese Pure Land Buddhism Association and have been granted a certificate of level 2 or higher physician assistant by the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Pure Land Buddhism Association (according to the classification of Vietnamese Pure Land Buddhism Association) before June 30, 2004.
- Those who have been granted a certificate of eligibility to practice by a health authority under the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with the Ordinance on the Practice of Private Medicine and Pharmacy with the scope of medical examination and treatment practice with traditional medicine but are not traditional medicine physicians or physician assistants, and have not been granted a certificate of traditional medicine practitioner.
- Those who have participated in medical examination and treatment with traditional medicine for at least 30 years.
- Those who passed the examinations in accordance with Circular 13/1999/TT-BYT on guidelines for the Ordinance on the Practice of Private Medicine and Pharmacy in the field of traditional medicine and pharmacy practice
