Draft amendments to the Labor Code are expected to take effect on January 1, 2021. One of the noteworthy contents in this draft is the regulation that supplements cases in which employees are entitled to personal leave while still receiving their full salary.
From July 1, 2018, statutory pay rate in Vietnam increased from 1,300,000 VND/month to 1,390,000 VND/month. Consequently, several allowances for employees that are calculated based on the statutory pay rate will also increase accordingly. The Ministry of Home Affairs is currently drafting a Circular guiding the implementation of the statutory pay rate for those receiving salaries and allowances in the agencies, organizations, and public service providers of the Communist Party, the State, socio-political organizations, and associations.
