1. Subjects considered for admission to honorary union members in Vietnam 2023

In Subsection 1, Section IV of Instruction 22HD/TWDTN 2013, the subjects for consideration for admission to honorary union members are as follows:

Those who have matured into the Youth Union with enthusiasm, have made many contributions to the Union, and have a good reputation in the youth and society agree to be honorary union members.

2. Procedures for admission to honorary union members in Vietnam 2023

In Section 2, Section IV of Instruction 22HD/TWDTN 2013, the process, procedures, and competence to consider admission are as follows:

- During the course of work and activities, the grassroots union organization finds that there are people who are qualified and ready to be honorary union members, then reports it to the standing committee of the district union and the equivalent for consideration and decision.

- The grassroots union organizes a solemn and respectful admission ceremony for the admitted members and educates the union members and young people.

3. Rights and obligations of honorary union members in 2023

Pursuant to Section 3, Section IV of Instruction 22HD/TWDTN 2013, stipulating the rights and obligations of honorary union members as follows:

- Being granted an honorary union membership card, participating in a number of activities of the Union.

- Participating in discussions, activities and proposing ideas on the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement.

- Actively participating in the education of youth union members and youth, propagandizing and expanding the influence of the Youth Union in the youth and society.

4. Cases of discontinuing honorary union membership in Vietnam 2023

In Section 4, Section IV of Instruction 22HD/TWDTN 2013, it provides for cases of discontinuance of honorary union membership

- If an honorary union member requests to stop being an honorary union member, the standing committee of the district-level union at the place of admission or where the honorary member lives, studies, or works shall issue a notice to terminate his/her honorary union membership.

- For honorary union members who violate the law, discipline, or morality that affect the reputation of the Union, the standing committee of the district-level union at the place of admission or where such person lives, studies, or works shall decide to delete the name of the honorary union member.

1. Conditions for admission to honorary union membership in 2023

In subsection 1, Section I of Instruction 22HD/TWDTN 2013, the age and education requirements are as follows:

- At the time of admission consideration, the person admitted to the Union is 16 years old (from full 15 years old + 1 day) and not more than 30 years old.

- Persons admitted to the Union have at least a primary school education. For young people who are ethnic minorities, people living in highlands, remote areas, and areas with extremely difficult socio-economic difficulties, the application can be flexibly applied.

2. Regulations on consideration for admission to union members in some cases in 2023

Pursuant to subsection 2, Section I of Instruction 22HD/TWDTN 2013, stipulating the consideration of admission to union members in a number of cases as follows:

- In case the youth aspires to join the Youth Union, actively participates in activities organized by the Union, and has trust in the youth, but his parents, brothers, sisters, or brothers are being detained, before considering admission, it is necessary to consult the Party committee of the same level.

- In case young people work in agencies, units, and enterprises that do not have a Youth Union, enthusiastically participate in activities organized by the Youth Union in their places of residence, have trust in young people, and wish to join the Youth Union, the local branch shall consider and propose, and the executive committee of the Youth Union of the commune, ward, or township shall issue a decision approving the admission.
