Party members in Vietnam may be disciplined if their spouses or children live lavishly or wastefully Regulation 69-QD/TW 2022 on discipline Party organizations and party members commit violations.

Party members in Vietnam may be disciplined if their spouses or children live lavishly or wastefully.

Specifically, in Article 54 of Regulation 69-QD/TW, if a party member in Vietnam lets his wife (or her husband) and children live lavishly and wastefully, causing bad public opinion in society or violating the law with less serious consequences, then he/she will be disciplined in the form of reprimand.

In the case of having been disciplined but re-committing or committing the first violation but causing serious consequences, the discipline shall be in the form of warning or dismissal (if he/she is holding a position).

If that violation causes very serious consequences, the discipline shall be in the form of expulsion in Vietnam.

(Compared to Regulation 102-QD/TW, this is a newly added)

In addition, there are many new points in the form of discipline of Party members who violate the regulations on ethics and lifestyle as follows:

- In case a party member commits a violation, causing less serious consequences in Vietnam, the discipline shall be in the form of a reprimand:

+ To organize weddings, funerals, holidays, New Year's, birthdays, birthday celebrations, wedding anniversaries, new home celebrations, promotion, extravagant, wasteful job changes, or for personal gain, causing surplus bad comments in society or against the regulations of agencies, units, or localities where they reside.

(Compared to Regulation 102-QD/TW, adding the organizations for self-seeking purposes causes bad public opinion in society)

+ To report dishonestly the results of one's cultivation and practice of morality and lifestyle when requested by the competent party organization.

- Supplementing the case of having been disciplined but recidivism or first violation causing serious consequences or violating one of the following cases in Vietnam, the discipline shall be in the form of warning or dismissal (if there is a position):

+ To endanger other people's health, honor, and dignity; defrauding and stealing assets and money from organizations and individuals.

+ To fail to carry out inspection and supervision plans for cadres and party members who commit violations in cultivating and practicing morality and lifestyle.

+ To violate industry, agency, or unit regulations on professional ethical standards.

+ To violate traffic safety regulations, causing accidents, causing damage to the health and property of others.
