Recently, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has issued Official Dispatch 546/UBND-VX on allowing students in Ho Chi Minh City to return to school from March 1, 2021.

According to Vietnam's Official Dispatch 546/UBND-VX, considering the proposal of the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Vietnam in Report No. 468/BC-SGDĐT dated February 23, 2021 on preparing for the return of students to school, The City People's Committee directs as follows:
- Allow students, trainees, and employees of educational and vocational education institutions (hereinafter referred to as educational institutions) in the city to return to school to study from March 1, 2021.
- Assign the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam to actively coordinate with the Department of Health to issue documents guiding educational institutions to seriously and fully implement measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic to be ready to welcome students back to school.
- Assign the People's Committee of Thu Duc city and districts to support the Education Sector to ensure measures to prevent and control the epidemic; organize the review and inspection of the preparation status of educational institutions as well as the situation of students returning to school.
- It is suggested that educational institutions are responsible for widely informing all students, students, and trainees returning from epidemic areas or ever moving to epidemic areas to report to medical establishments. to be monitored and checked for health according to the guidance of the City Center for Disease Control.
Note: Individuals who deliberately declare dishonestly or do not comply with the medical isolation will be strictly handled in accordance with the law.
- Educational institutions deploy daily online medical declaration activities for all students, staff, and parents of the school.
