When Do Students of All Levels in Hanoi Return to School?

On April 29, 2020, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 1602/UBND-KGVX on the plan for students to return to school.

In this Official Dispatch, the People's Committee of the city clearly stated agreement with the proposal of the Department of Education and Training in Submission 1330/TTr-SGDDT dated April 29, 2020, regarding the plan for students to return to school, applicable to students in preschools, elementary schools, high schools, and vocational education centers in Hanoi City. Additionally, Submission 1281/TTr-SLDTBXH dated April 27, 2020, of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam on the return of students from vocational education institutions in the City to school.

To be specific:

- Secondary school and high school students (including students attending secondary and high school programs at vocational education centers), universities, colleges, and intermediate schools under the City will resume their studies according to plan from May 4, 2020 (Monday);

- Preschool children and elementary school students will resume their studies from May 11, 2020;

- For language centers, computer science centers, culture and skill training centers, study abroad consultancy centers: Assess the safety level for COVID-19 prevention and control according to the Ministry of Education and Training's safety criteria for COVID-19 prevention in schools. If safety is ensured, they can resume activities from May 4, 2020 (Monday).

The People's Committee of Hanoi City assigns the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to lead, in coordination with the Department of Health, district-level People's Committees, and related units to notify units and organizations for implementation, ensuring compliance with the law and the City's directives.

Simultaneously, the units are required to strictly implement measures to prevent and control COVID-19 as guided by the Central Government, relevant ministries, and central authorities, and the City to ensure an absolutely safe environment when students return to school.
