Scope of Information Exploitation in the National Database on Immigration in 2020

In Article 6 Decree 77/2020/ND-CP, the scope of provision and exploitation of information in the National Database on Immigration is prescribed:

- Investigating agencies; judgment execution agencies, or state management agencies are requested to provide information on immigration in the National Database on Immigration to serve the investigation, prosecution, trial, implementing judgment execution decisions, applying administrative handling measures, or resolving tasks according to their assigned functions and duties.

- Passport issuing agencies, visa issuing authorities, and immigration control units are allowed to exploit information related to the issuance, revocation, cancellation, restoration, and control of passports and immigration documents, as well as the immigration history in the National Database on Immigration to proactively manage according to their functions and duties.

- Vietnamese citizens are requested to provide or confirm their related immigration information in the National Database on Immigration to serve the requirements of ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of citizens.

The provision and exploitation of information in the National Database on Immigration must be correct in purpose, authority, and confidentiality in accordance with the law.
