On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (Bo Lao Dong - Thuong Binh va Xa Hoi - BLDTBXH) issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate level and college level in technical mechanics fields.

According to the Regulation on the minimum volume of knowledge, competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the mechanical tool repair vocation issued with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the college-level mechanical tool repair is a vocation where practitioners perform repair work with specialized skills on details, part sets for the purpose of overhauling, major repairing mechanical tools to restore them to operational condition or to be reused in a state meeting standard regulations. It also includes maintenance of details and part sets as well as assembly and adjustment of mechanical tools following repairs, significantly contributing to ensuring the productivity and quality of products, in line with level 5 requirements in the Vietnamese National Qualification Framework.
The tasks of this vocation are mainly carried out in workshops, factories, production companies using mechanical tools and processing machines in the mechanical field with relatively stable, less changing workplaces. The working environment follows standards to ensure safety, hygiene, and health; the intensity of work is not high but requires workers to be careful, meticulous, skillful, and creative in diagnosing failures of details and machine parts.
During the execution of tasks, practitioners have to use some types of materials and generate industrial dust that may negatively impact humans and the environment: industrial oil, grease, iron dust, etc. Therefore, occupational safety and industrial hygiene must be taken into account.
To practice this vocation, workers must have good health, professional ethics, adequate professional knowledge, and vocational skills suited to the job position. Additionally, continuous learning is necessary to improve foreign language communication abilities, broaden social knowledge; cultivate carefulness, detail orientation, clarity; foster a professional awareness and a passion for the job.
Minimum knowledge volume: 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits)
