Authorized by the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc Province, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vinh Phuc Province has issued Notice 163/TB-SLDXH dated December 09, 2024, regarding Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day April 30, and International Labor Day May 1 for officials and public employees and employees in 2025.

This notice is regarding the implementation of the holiday schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day April 30, and International Labor Day May 1 for officials and public employees and employees throughout the province. To be specific:

  1. Officials and public employees of administrative agencies, career organizations, political organizations, political-social organizations (hereinafter referred to as officials and public employees) are entitled to the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (i.e., December 26 of the Year of the Dragon) until the end of Sunday, February 2, 2025 (i.e., January 5 of the Year of the Snake).

This break includes 05 days of Lunar New Year holidays and 04 weekly days off.

  1. Officials and public employees are entitled to a National Day holiday in 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025, until the end of Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This break includes 02 days of National Day holidays and 02 weekly days off.

  2. Officials and public employees may swap a working day from Friday, May 2, 2025, to Saturday, April 26, 2025. Thus, for the holiday of Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025, officials and public employees have 05 consecutive days off, from Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to the end of Sunday, May 4, 2025 (making up on Saturday, April 26, 2025).

  3. Agencies and units implementing the holiday schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day April 30, and International Labor Day May 1 in 2025 should arrange standby sections according to regulations and work reasonably to continuously handle tasks, ensuring good service for organizations and people. Attention should be given to appoint officials to be on standby to handle unexpected tasks that may arise during the holiday periods as per regulations.

  4. Agencies, units, and localities should have specific, appropriate plans, encouraging units, enterprises, organizations, and individuals to actively implement production, business, economic, and social activities, ensuring the stability of commodity supply and demand, services, prices, and market, contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, combating waste, striving to successfully achieve the objectives and tasks of the plan for 2025, a year of acceleration and breakthrough in the implementation of the 5-year plan 2021-2025, creating a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development in the future.

  5. Agencies and units that do not follow a fixed Saturday-Sunday weekend schedule can arrange suitable holidays based on their specific programs and plans in accordance with the laws.

  6. For employees not covered under the provision in section 1 of this Notice, employers decide the holiday schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day April 30, and International Labor Day May 1 in 2025 as follows:

- For the Lunar New Year holiday: choose 01 day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 04 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 02 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 03 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 03 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 02 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.

- For the National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and choose 01 out of 02 days: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

- Notify the holiday schedule for the Lunar New Year and National Day in 2025 to employees at least 30 days in advance.

- If the weekly day off coincides with a holiday prescribed by Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employee is entitled to compensation for the weekly day off on the next working day as per Article 111, clause 3 of the Labor Code.

- Employers are encouraged to apply the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day April 30, and International Labor Day May 1 holidays for employees as per the regulations for officials and public employees.

  1. Other holidays and festivals are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code.

11 days of holidays and festivals in a year for employees in Vietnam

According to the Labor Code, employees are entitled to leave, receiving full salary on the following holidays and festivals: Gregorian New Year: 01 day (January 01); Lunar New Year: 05 days; Victory Day: 01 day (April 30); International Labor Day: 01 day (May 01); National Day: 02 days (September 02 and 01 day immediately before or after); Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 01 day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
