Introduction to the Building Materials Technology Engineering Sector at Intermediate Level

On February 10, 2019, Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was issued, stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in fields of materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical engineering technologies.

According to the Regulations on Minimum Knowledge Volume and Competency Requirements for Graduates at Intermediate and College Levels in Construction Materials Technology, issued together with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the intermediate level of construction materials technology is a specialized field concerning the production of silicate materials products for the civil and industrial construction sectors, including main product lines such as: bricks, tiles, fired clay, ceramic tiles, sanitary ware, construction glass, cement, concrete, meeting the requirements of level 4 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

Individuals working in the field of Construction Materials Technology must possess the knowledge and skills to perform tasks such as "material processing, shaping, decorating, thermal processing, classification, packaging, and quality control of products."

The main duties in the field are: Monitoring raw materials, operating, and supervising the production process.

Those trained at the intermediate level in Construction Materials Technology have numerous job opportunities in construction materials manufacturing enterprises, construction companies, specialized LAS and VILAS laboratories in construction materials, materials testing departments, agencies, and socio-political organizations related to the construction materials sector...

The minimum knowledge volume required is 1,500 hours (equivalent to 55 credits).
