On December 27, 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam issued Decision 4225/QD-BVHTTDL approving the Scheme for organizing the National Tourism Year in Hue in 2025.

According to the Scheme, the National Tourism Year in Hue in 2025 is a prominent cultural, economic, social, and tourism event on a national and international scale, combined with the Hue Festival 2025, commemorating 50 years of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025) as well as other significant national anniversaries; welcoming and celebrating Hue becoming a centrally governed city. Its purpose is to introduce and promote the cultural values, both tangible and intangible, and the unique tourism resources and products of Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue province in particular. It contributes to unlocking more resources and effectively exploiting the distinctive potentials and strengths of the Province to create a breakthrough in tourism development, attracting more domestic and international tourists, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Thus, the Scheme will strongly promote the linkage of tourism development among provinces across the country, to utilize the strengths and potentials to develop tourism in the central key economic region as well as inter-regionally, contributing to enhancing the image, status, and brand of Vietnam tourism in general and Thua Thien Hue province in particular in the following years.

Simultaneously, it will attract a large number of international and domestic tourists to visit and experience in Thua Thien Hue province, creating a driving force to promote the development of other economic sectors, creating comprehensive growth in size, quality of service, and the number and structure of tourists of Thua Thien Hue tourism, ensuring sustainability; continuing to build the image of Thua Thien Hue tourism with the message “Hue - An attractive, safe, and friendly destination,” affirming the tourism brand of Thua Thien Hue: “Hue - Ancient Capital, New Experience.”

When implementing the Scheme for organizing the National Tourism Year in Hue in 2025, the following requirements must be ensured:

- Ensure the prompt direction and support of the Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and related Ministries and agencies; the close coordination of provinces and centrally governed cities; unified efforts among Departments, agencies, unions, and local governments within the Province; active participation and support from organizations, enterprises, and the people of Thua Thien Hue as well as the entire country and overseas Vietnamese communities.

- Activities and events within the framework of the National Tourism Year in Hue in 2025 must strictly ensure security and safety.

- It is necessary to showcase the unique culture, lands, and people of Hue through a series of events with profound, engaging content, organized effectively and practically, with focus and emphasis in connection with provinces and cities nationwide.

- Each activity must have a detailed plan and program; prioritize resources for organizing key, attractive, and innovative activities with wide reach and high connectivity.

- Create a driving force to develop cultural industries with high creative products linked with tourism to leverage competitive advantages, promote, and contribute to local growth.

- The organization of the events of the National Tourism Year in Hue in 2025 needs to be scientifically and creatively arranged, harmoniously linked with important events of the Province to make 2025 become the "Year of Hue."

- Strive to effectively carry out private investment work, ensuring savings, avoiding wastefulness; call for support from media and press agencies, both domestically and internationally, in communication and promotion efforts.
