Vietnam to officially increase electricity generation retail prices from November 9, 2023

Electricity generation retail prices and electricity generation prices are provided in the Appendix enclosed with Decision No. 2941/QD-BCT.

The electricity generation prices in the Appendix enclosed with Decision No. 2941/QD-BCT do not include VAT. 

Specifically, the average electricity generation retail price shall be 2.006,79 VND per kWh (exclusive of VAT) from November 9, 2023. 

Electricity generation retail prices from November 9, 2023

(1) Voltage of 22 kV or higher 

- Normal hours: 2.629 VND per kWh

- Off-peak hours: 1.465 VND per kWh 

- Peak hours: 4.575 VND per kWh 

(2) Voltage from 6 kV to less than 22 kV 

- Normal hours: 2.830 VND per kWh

- Off-peak hours: 1.666 VND per kWh 

- Peak hours: 4.736 VND per kWh 

(3) Voltage of less than 6 kV 

- Normal hours: 2.870 VND per kWh

- Off-peak hours: 1.746 VND per kWh 

- Peak hours: 4.937 VND per kWh 

Electricity generation retail prices for domestic use from November 9, 2023

Level 1: 0-50 kWh: 1.806 VND per kWh

Level 2: 41-100 kWh: 1.866 VND per kWh

Level 3: 101-200 kWh: 2.167 VND per kWh

Level 4: 201-300 kWh: 2.729 VND per kWh

Level 5: 301-400 kWh: 3.050 VND per kWh

Level 6: 401 kWh or higher: 3.151 VND per kWh

Electricity generation retail prices for production 

- Voltage of 110 kV or higher 

+ Normal hours: 1.649 VND per kWh

+ Off-peak hours: 1.044 VND per kWh 

+ Peak hours: 2.973 VND per kWh 

- Voltage from 22 kV to less than 110 kV 

+ Normal hours: 1.669 VND per kWh

+ Off-peak hours: 1.084 VND per kWh 

+ Peak hours: 3.093 VND per kWh 

- Voltage from 6 kV to less than 22 kV 

+ Normal hours: 1.729 VND per kWh

+ Off-peak hours: 1.124 VND per kWh 

+ Peak hours: 3.194 VND per kWh 

- Voltage of less than 6 kV 

+ Normal hours: 1.809 VND per kWh

+ Off-peak hours: 1.184 VND per kWh 

+ Peak hours: 3.314 VND per kWh
