This is a content of Official Telegram No. 1284/CD-TTg December 1, 2023 on the intensification of the management and use of e-invoices for petroleum retail and business.

Vietnam to intensify management and use of e-invoices for petroleum retail activities 

The Prime Minister of Vietnam requests Presidents of People’s Committees of provinces and centrally affiliated cities to urgently perform the following tasks: 

- Direct local authorities (finance, industry and trade, public security, communications, planning and investment, science and technology, etc.) to strictly cooperate with tax authorities in grasping the implementation of e-invoices by each sale, the level and capacity for applying e-invoices by each sale, and the connection to tax authorities of local petroleum retail stores to consult and provide suggestions for People’s Committees of provinces and centrally affiliated cities regarding drastic methods and measures to promote and supervise local petroleum retail units able to issue e-invoices after each sale as per regulation.

- Direct local departments and authorities to strictly cooperate with tax authorities in intensifying the management, supervision, detection, and handling of cases of violations, failure to issue, or deliberate failure to issue e-invoices by each sale regarding local petroleum retail activities and e-connection with tax authorities.

Additionally, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requests the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam to: 

Direct market management authorities to strictly supervise and inspect compliance with petroleum business laws of local petroleum business facilities, strictly and promptly handle violations of the conditions for petroleum business and cooperate with tax authorities in inspecting, supervising, and handling violations of the law on e-invoices by each sale of petroleum business units in compliance with laws.
