Vietnam: The electricity price for solar power projects is 2,086 VND/kWh

This is one of the featured contents of Decision No. 11/2017/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister on the encouragement of solar power development in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister of Vietnam stipulates that the electricity price for solar power projects is 2,086 VND/kWh, which:

- excludes VAT;

- is adjusted to the exchange rate between VND and USD;

- is only applicable to grid-connected projects with the efficiency of solar cells greater than 16% or efficiency of the module greater than 15%.

Moreover, solar power projects are also entitled to the following incentives:

- Exemption from import tax on imported goods used as fixed assets for the solar power project.

- Organizations and individuals participating in the development of solar power projects are allowed to mobilize capital for investment in the implementation of the projects.

- Exemption or reduction of corporate income tax.

- Exemption or reduction of land use fees, land rental fees, and surface water usage fees.
