Vietnam: Repairmen of transmission lines and electrical equipment are not required to be issued with electricity safety card

This is a notable content of Decree No. 51/2020/NĐ-CP amending a number of Articles of Decree No. 14/2014/ND-CP dated February 26, 2014 of Vietnam’s Government stipulating implementation of Electricity Law regarding electricity safety.

Specifically, according to Point b Clause 4 Article 1 of Decree No. 51/2020/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government amending Clause 1 Article 6 of Decree No. 14/2014/NĐ-CP: “Builders, operators, inspectors and repairmen of transmission lines and electrical equipment must receive electrical safety training and assessment”.

Previously, according to Decree No. 14/2014/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government: “Employees performing the operation, experiment, construction and repair of electrical line or equipment must be trained in electricity safety and issued with electricity safety card”.

Thus, it can be seen that according to Decree No. 51/2020/NĐ-CP, from April 21, 2020, builders, operators, inspectors and repairmen of transmission lines and electrical equipment are not required to be issued with electricity safety card as previously regulated in Decree No. 14/2014/NĐ-CP.
