Vietnam: Certification and attestation fees shall be increased from 2017

This is a content specified in Circular No. 226/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam on the rate, collection, submission, administration and use of the certification and attestation fees.

From January 01, 2017, the term "lệ phí" (charge) will be changed to "phí" (fee), with the following fee rates for attestation of contract or transaction:

- Fee for attestation of contract or transaction: VND 50,000/contract or transaction (increased by VND 20,000 compared to current regulations).

- Fee for attestation of amendment, supplement or cancellation of a contract or transaction: VND 30,000/contract or transaction (increased by VND 10,000 compared to current regulations).

- Fee for correction of errors in an attested contract or transaction: VND 25,000/contract or transaction (increased by VND 15,000 compared to current regulations).

Moreover, Circular No. 226/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam also specifies other certification and attestation fees as follows:

- The fee for certification of a copy of an original is VND 2,000/page; VND 1,000/page beyond two pages; however, the charge per copy shall not exceed VND 200,000.

- The fee for certification of signature is VND 10,000/request. A request includes one or several signatures on one paper or document.

Circular No. 226/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam takes effect from January 01, 2017 and replaces Joint Circular No. 158/2015/TTLT-BTC-BTP.
