Traffic Safety during Tet 2018: Riding Electric Bicycles and Electric Motorcycles Must Wear Safety Helmets

This is the directive of the Ministry of Education and Training in Official Dispatch 6051/BGDDT-GDCTHSSV on ensuring traffic safety during the New Year's Day, Lunar New Year Mau Tuat, and the Spring Festival 2018.

The Ministry requests the Departments of Education and Training, and schools to implement activities for disseminating and educating legal knowledge on traffic safety for staff, teachers, and students. The following contents are exemplary:

- Not drinking alcohol or beer before operating vehicles participating in traffic;- Schools organize agreements with students' parents on:

- Not allowing students to use motorbikes or motorcycles without a driver's license;- Wearing helmets for students when riding on motorbikes or motorcycles in traffic;- Students operating "electric two-wheeled vehicles" must wear helmets.

- Universities, colleges, and pedagogical intermediate schools should coordinate with transport enterprises to organize the sale of train and bus tickets for students; at the same time, arrange a suitable Tet holiday schedule.
